Actually in German there is also a radio show of The Three Investigators.
This site has put together the transcripts of the show:

Yes they are: Officially here.
You can preview it and check the transcript which is here.

If you head over to Youtube and search for Die Drei ??? there are lots of results, but they don't seem to match the transcript.

I think you can get the German translations in ebook format, so even at A2 you should be able to read them.

You could also try Pippi Langstrumpf by Astrid Lindgren.

Or Ronja Räubertochter by the same Astrid Lindgren. A beautiful story, very different from Pippi Langstrumpf.

Also, have a look here, there are many excellent books on this list. I can recommend:
- Die unendliche Geschichte
- Momo
- Das doppelte Lottchen
- Räuber Hotzenplotz
- Krabat (very much so!)
- Emil und die Detektive
- Jim Knopf
- Das fliegende Klassenzimmer
- Die rote Zora

Die unendliche Geschichte, Momo and Krabat are really good books, suitable for adults as well as for kids. I have very fond memories of all of the books listed above.

The German rock group Jupiter Jones is named after one of the three investigators. I had
never heard of the three investigators until I got into Jupiter Jones.

You might be a language nerd if you learn about a book in your own language from a rock
group in another language!

That's funny, because I only found out about Die drei ??? because of the German band called Karpatenhund,
which is from one of the episodes.

Momo's on my 'to read' list as I've heard it recommended so many times around the web.

Any Malory Towers translations available?
