To me it sounds like "abgeknallt" rather than "geknallt".

Yes, he said: Du hast ihn abgeknallt, i.e. you have shot him. Abknallen is a colloquial expression for erschießen, because of the noise (--> der Knall)

PS. Du hast ihm eine geknallt would have meant: You have boxed his ears.
