Even though I'm still a beginner, I think I have listened enough to start speaking. I have tried websites such as inter
pals to try to find people, but sadly everyone who I've come in contact with feels uncomfortable to speak.

Are there any other websites that could aid me in a finding a Skype conversation partner?

I recommend sharedtalk. If you go to the text chat section you will be able to chat with someone almost immediately. When you find someone interesting ask them if they want to talk with voice on the site or on skype. If you have English as a native language it is simple to find people there. I like it better than the other language exchange sites.

What language are you looking for, HiddenPerson? Norwegian? SharedTalk might work.
Personally, I've not had any luck finding a partner for exchange there, although your
language combinations might be more popular there.

I've had the most luck with conversationexchange.com

iTalki is also extremely popular.

I have found almost all of my conversation partners on Italki.com. Granted, it is probably a lot easier for me to find Mandarin, Spanish, and German language partners than it would be for something like Norwegian, but there are a lot of languages that are very well represented there.

I had success with conversationexchange.com and Italki.com
On iTalki it went real fast, after 2 days I was "full booket"

Shouldn't be to difficult to find a Norwegian who wants to learn Spanish. There are quite a lot of Norwegians that spend their holidays or are living in Spain.

On iTalki I put up a picture of myself and wrote that I was interested in 50/50 conversation exchanges with a native on Skype

I've only recently started doing these again, but so far I've had great luck with conversationexchange.com and also the Mixxer (language-exchanges.org).

Sounds good. I may try it in the future.

Like some people here, I also get contacts with language exchange partners through conversationexchange.com. I never found partners through italki.com , although I have friends correct my writings there.

I like www.language-exchanges.org also. I've had so many requests for language exchange that I've had to disable my account. :)
