COMMENTS: I have a big pile of Croatian books that I've deliberately not allowed myself to touch this year so I could save them for the challenge. Think I may struggle with the films though as I don't watch them even in English.
The Deutsche Welle stuff you watch definitely counts for films! I'm also going to struggle completing the audio part in Croatian though...

Wow. 100 books/ 100 films. Even if I were to fall just short of the challenge...I still win. This will be a massive amount of very good exposure for me. Thanks for letting me play.

Yup. I'll try.

ETA: As I started watching stuff in Chinese again yesterday I realized it's better to count it than let it demotivate me. Reading's going to be a pain though. Maybe I'll read the first Harry Potter a dozen times.

LANGUAGE: Spanish

CHALLENGE:Full

LEVEL: passive B1/B2, active A1

COMMENTS: Shrinking "books" to just 50 pages is comfortable and it will be a nice piece of motivation when I'll have completed the reading part. But it is not enough. I'll be aiming for twice as much, like the original 10 000 pages ideally. And after, I may turn it into another ASCR (advanced super challenge residual, basically getting it slowly to the 200 movies and 20 000 pages after the real SC is finished). I'll start with watching to get my listening up and ready for my internship in Spain (where I hope my active skills will go up fast so that I can spend my time in the lab without bothering anyone with English).

.......
LANGUAGE: German

CHALLENGE: Full

LEVEL:A1 or something like that. Perhaps less, now that I am focusing on Spanish.

COMMENTS: I'll aim higher again but German is much more difficult. I don't have the huge comprehension advantage of knowing a similar language. And I'll start when I am ready, that means further with Spanish and after review and progress in German as well. I think first half of the 20 months is likely to be Spanish SC, second German SC.

Last time, I completed the equivalent of over 2 full challenges (according to 2014-2015 rules). I also improved my
reading speed in several languages a great deal. So 3 total challenges likely is a stretch, but might not be
impossible.

Challenges:

LANGUAGE: Russian
CHALLENGE: Full
CURRENT READING/LISTENING LEVEL: A1/A2

LANGUAGE: Italian
CHALLENGE: Half
CURRENT READING/LISTENING LEVEL: B1

In keeping with the spirit of Cristina's challenge, I am declaring Russian to be my focus, and Italian a secondary
focus.

Also rans/maintenance:

LANGUAGE: French
CHALLENGE: Half
CURRENT READING/LISTENING LEVEL: B1/B2

LANGUAGE: Dutch
CHALLENGE: Half
CURRENT READING/LISTENING LEVEL: B2

LANGUAGE: German
CHALLENGE: Half
CURRENT READING/LISTENING LEVEL: C1

I want to keep reading in French, Dutch and German for maintenance and for fun, and I know I will feel discouraged
from doing so if I can't log my results, but I want to pay more attention to finishing Russian, which will be a big
challenge, and also Italian.

LANGUAGE: Dutch
CHALLENGE: Half
LEVEL: A1

LANGUAGE: German
CHALLENGE: Half
LEVEL: < A1

LANGUAGE: Norwegian
CHALLENGE: Half
LEVEL: From scratch

LANGUAGE: Swedish
CHALLENGE: Half
LEVEL: From scratch

It is likely that I will do a quarter challenge for each language; in the opposite
case, I will try to the the half challenge with one between German and Dutch, I will
make my considerations if this turns out to be the case.
For Norwegian and Swedish I actually decided that I will study before Norwegian and
after Swedish. It is very likely that if I reach a B1 level in Norwegian I'll have at
least a A2 level of passive skill in Swedish, and while studying Swedish I will also
improve my skills in Norwegian. If I can manage to go through both the quarter
challenge for Norwegian and Swedish is it possible I will rather start with Danish
instead of continue with Norwegian or Swedish.

My goal is to reach a passive skill around B2/C1 for the 4 languages in these two
years.
