If I choose to learn, say, Dutch and then learn German afterwards; is it likely from
there on in that my German will be highly influenced by Dutch and I'll find myself
accidentally speaking Dutch/using Dutch grammar/etc?

Or is this not really a concern at all and by getting to a standard high enough in Dutch,
I'll be able to distinguish them both better when I move onto the second language?
