Not sure if this has been posted already, but Al Jazeera has a section on their website for Arabic learners:
http://learning.aljazeera.net/arabic There are numerous short extracts, simplified articles, and videos with Arabic->English vocabulary lists and exercises (fill in the blank, right or wrong etc).
