Ich habe diesen Ausdruck gehört, ich bin aber nicht sicher seiner Bedeutung. Ich habe nur "Korb geben/bekommen" gefunden. Ich würde auch wissen, ob es etwas selten benutzt ist.

"Körbe verteilen" is not as common as "jemand einen Korb geben." It's usually used to describe the action of "jemand einen Korb geben."

It's a well-known expression that is also occasionally used figuratively to express rejection.
There are lots of synonymes.

"Körbe verteilen" sounds a bit like as if it's done habitually (only in the plural).
Expressing the same thing with "geben" (ie. "Körbe geben") sounds odd. But if you want
to use some plurality with "geben" in these expressions, you could use something like
"Sie hat ihm schon 2 mal einen Korb gegeben" instead of "Sie hat ihm schon 2 Körbe
gegeben". The latter sentence would have a more literal meaning. Languages are odd...

Alles klar. Das habe ich in Scrubs gehört, aber anhand eurer Antworten hat es den Anschein als es nicht so oft benutzt ist.
