Sorry for not making this gan clear. The YANG (positive) is synonymous to QIAN. This QIAN is the 乾 which was not simplified into 干 perhaps because it refers to Qianlong Emperor and the QIAN concept. In a Chinese-Chinese dictionary, this exception was mentioned as a footnote - that is to explain such ambiguity.
