Just watch this B1 example from Goethe. No way that's even a B1, in fact people from my class with A2 passed it without effort, as I said.

Why? They have a typical B1 level.

Do they?
No Relativesätze, no Doppelkonjunktionen, no concessive structures, very few Nebensätze, mostly first person singular present tense.

I disagree, those are all structures defined in Goethe Zertifikat B1.

I've gone through both Goethe B1 and B2 exams and disagree with a lot of what's being said in this thread so far.

The B1 exam is usually fairly easy, the B2 a lot less. The Cs are supposed to be unforgiving.

I know the people in this forum form a particularly motivated crowd, but we should be aware that not everyone is as committed as we are.

I'd suggest a Prüfungstraining book. Those have worked well for me in the past.

By the way, the interview part of the exam is not an example of anything, unless you freeze.

I could go into more detail, but I'd rather stick to the point. If you need more, ask.

I think this is normal for B1. Especially the speaking part tends to be over-estimated.

Quote:
