Does anyone create their own 'personal' dictionaries with words and phrases organized alphabetically in the target language? I've heard this is effective if the learner does not try to put too much in at one time. In other words, they only add 6-10 words or phrases a day and work to use them (subvocally, probably) into their everyday speech. I'm interested in doing this and am wondering if anyone else has done something similar?

I've got something like that but I add words chronologically.
Every weekend I repeat all words from week.

I think I would do it chronologically, but still put words in the "A" section, "B" section, etc., so that they are put out of context. If I put them all in a row as I learn them, I imagine I'd become dependent on the context clues. Separated by letters not only makes reference easy, it makes you think a little bit harder (I think) and systematically, which I think is beneficial. I don't know, though.
