Removing Anki Tags from Browse Window? | ||

There are a ton of tags, most of which I never created, running down the left side of my
"Browse" screen. I want to get rid of all the ones except the dozen or so I made and use. I can't do it. There's a "Remove Tags" menu button, but when I choose a tag and okay delete nothing happens. What am I missing? How do I delete unwanted tags, and why are there so many that seem to create themselves? 1 person has voted this message useful | |

You need to delete the tag from every card in your collection to have them disappear from the side panel. So click
on "whole collection" then "delete tag" and select the one you want to delete. If the tag still isn't gone, try "tools" -- > "check database". 3 persons have voted this message useful | |
