Ademas, el español es inicialmente mas fácil a pronunciar para los anglohablantes porque
pueden fácilmente entender los distinciones entre todos los sonidos españoles. En cambio,
al empezar a aprender por ejemplo el frances, es difícil distinguir entre ou/u, en/in/on
y muchos otros sonidos. Pero por supuesto no es fácil hablar como los hablantes nativos.

J'ai découvert une nouvelle émission estivale sur France Inter qui s'appèle "Ça va pas la tête." Elle aborde de façon plutôt intelligente (mais avec un brin d'humour aussi) des sujets psychologiques. Si ça vous intéresse :

Je viens d'écouter l'épisode intitulé "Pourquoi les enfants surdoués ne sont pas forcément des têtes à claque ?"

Mots appris :

barder : Charger quelqu'un de cadeaux, d'attentions, etc.
une tête d'ampoule : Personne intelligente.
tristounet : Qui est un peu triste.
un équidé : Mammifère tel que le cheval, les ânes et les zèbres, n'ayant à chaque membre qu'un seul doigt développé, terminé par un large sabot.

[ES] Qué rollo es el nivel intermedio. Llevo meses con la sensación de que nunca lograré mis propositos con el español.

A veces siento igual, nunca te has sentido así con el francés? A propósito, cúal es tu
nivel de francés - has superado el "intermediate plateau"?

Estoy pensando en empezar a estudiar francés - hay cursos/materiales que recomiendas?

Sí pero el "período difícil" con mi francés fue mucho más corto porque tuve más tiempo para practicarlo. Es fácil avanzar rápidamente cuando uno tiene tres o cuatro horas al día para escuchar la radio y hablar con nativos. :-)

No sé exactamente porque nunca me he presentado a un examen pero entiendo la gran mayoría de los programas de la radio y muchas películas sin dificultad. Puedo hablar con nativos sobre muchos temas, quizás no siempre en profundidad o con fluidez perfecta pero sí puedo decir algo relevante.

Te recomiendo "Assimil: New French With Ease," el libro que utilicé como principiante. Ya eres angloparlante nativo y tienes un nivel intermedio en español, pues creo que cuando termines con este libro podrás comprender algunos contenidos nativos en francés (como TV5 Monde, por ejemplo).
