What? Can't he get tested later and be put into whatever level that fits?

Okay, then I admit I didn't know what I was talking about. I couldn't imagine the classes as so inflexible. For me that would be another reason to drop out of the system altogether though.

Anyway, it does say that you should find more positives apart from clinging to the investment. Apparently now you did that :)

SUch a testing after the entry test is still seen as an extra bonus, not a standard
unfortunately, Serpernt :-(

What I find bad about classes is that you choose only based on a temporary level but not
based on desiredspeed of learning. Intensive classes mean more classhours, not using each
hour more efficiently.

Yes, I'm afraid that's how it works.

I don't want to veer too much off-topic, but language schools are a business. Yet, I've seen good students skip levels. I guess I could have done it at some point, too. They are not the devil, they just need to be cautious. A bit of boredom is not an issue, having people out of their depth is.

We have to remember that outside HTLAL and a few other fora, "Finnish in two years" or "French by Christmas" is just plain crazy. When I was growing up, I had school classmates attending language schools. It was seen as an activity, such as learning to play the piano, or going swimming. People learned French or English over many (six? eight?) years.

I know a lot about France, England, Scotland, Germany, Italy, Tunisia and India. This would have been impossible without my teachers and, sometimes, their friends and families. A few of them became my friends.

It's just a different formula.
