2015 TAC Goal: Obtain State Department Language Certification (Level 3+). I'm already at 2+. I hope to triple my vocabulary, which has held me back in achieving my Mandarin speaking goals. I have a strong basic foundation in the language, but I've done a poor job of keeping up my vocabulary and speaking in a conversational manner. Obtaining this language certification would be a major achievement for my work and valuable to my career. Some secondary Mandarin goals: x learn 1,000 more characters x read one Chinese NYTimes column daily x move to advanced level on LingQ x have a 20 minute conversation with inlaws In my spare time I'd like to work on Spanish, but do not have any goals that I'm willing to commit myself to other than completing my Assimil course.
