I started learning Spanish in November because it seemed practical.

I started learning Irish in December because Spanish seemed too practical.

I started learning French in late December because I got mesmerized by the Lingvist
application.

Many thanks to people on this forum for sharing their ideas and experiences. I've been
lurking a few weeks and picked up both Lingvist and L-R from this forum.

Spanish:

Hours: 167/600
Courses: Duolingo (lvl 21), Assimil (lesson 11)
Other: El Chivo (telenovela), a couple easy non-fiction books

Irish:

Hours: 83/1100
Courses: Duolingo (lvl 15), Buntus Cainte (lesson 21)
Other: a little bit of random Irish TV

French:

Hours: 41/600
Courses: Lingvist (4200+ words)
Other: Listening-Reading with Le Comte de Monte Cristo, on chapter 4.

Thank you, tristano.

I was busy with work this week, but have a long commute and discovered podcasts so it
wasn't a total loss. I'm not adding hours spent listening to podcasts to my totals,
however. Too easy to zone out.

Spanish

Hours: 168/600
Courses: Duolingo (finished), Assimil Spanish w/Ease (lesson 15).
Media: Podcasts (Nomadas RNE, really good). I listened to several of these. My
comprehension was about 20%. I liked Groenlandia the best so far, but they are all
good.

Irish

Hours: 85/1100
Courses: Duolingo (finished), Buntus Cainte Book 1, lesson 26
Media: I just downloaded some podcasts (recorded talk radio about issues in the west
of the country) and listened about 20 minutes. I was relatively satisfied with my
progress. I could pick out phrases like "maith go leor" and "freisin go dona anois",
etc. This would be thanks to Buntus Cainte. I knew the general topic they discussed,
but my overall comprehension was maybe 3%.

French:

Hours: 43/600
Courses: I finished the Lingvist memorize section (4695 words), and am working on the
listening and reading sections.
Media: Comte de Monte Cristo, chapitre six.
