I'd like to join!

LANGUAGE: Swedish

CHALLENGE: Full challenge (maybe)

CURRENT LEVEL: B1ish?

WILLING TO CORRECT: Yes, English (UK)

COMMENTS: Time to get over my fear of actually producing this language! Please forgive my awful accent.

EDIT: That 'B1ish' is based on nothing much, apart from half-remembered results of a dialang test. I feel more like I'm somewhere in the As, usually....

LANGUAGE: Japanese

CHALLENGE: Full Challenge (lord give me strength)

CURRENT LANGUAGE LEVEL: Ummm, intermediate, I suppose? B1?

WILLING TO CORRECT LANGUAGE: Yes! English~

COMMENTS: I currently live in Japan, and I'd really like to practice my Japanese so I
can sound more natural when I speak! (My co-workers and neighbors let me get away with
so many bad speaking habits because they're such nice people... but I need to really
buckle down and practice my output- especially speaking!) My friend is currently doing
this challenge in Dutch, and I was inspired to jump on board.

Does anybody know of a word counter somewhere that can count non-Roman characters? I'm
not sure how best to count my words when written in Japanese... I guess I can do it by
hand!

Also, I've signed up "officially" in May... but I've already written stuff from March!
Can I include that in my wordcount total?

Good luck to you all!

I've done a basic Linux hack for counting characters in Mandarin. But it is difficult. You might try this online counter. http://www.docwordcounter.com/

Let me try before this forum goes down

LANGUAGE: Japanese

CHALLENGE: Writing only

CURRENT LANGUAGE LEVEL: less than A1

WILLING TO CORRECT LANGUAGE: Yes. Indonesian.

COMMENTS: At first I wanted to choose Arabic, but since I don't know how to type it without messing with left-to-right and right-to-left cursor I decided to go with Japanese instead.

Quick question: Is it possible to count words from private messages? I would probably
type them all up into a word document to keep count of them, but I wouldn't share them at
all. Curently, they're my only written output...

LANGUAGE: Spanish

CHALLENGE: Writing only

CURRENT LANGUAGE LEVEL: I'm approaching a solid B1.

WILLING TO CORRECT LANGUAGE: Norwegian maybe, although it seems like no one has
registered with that...

COMMENTS: I'll at least give it a shot. I won't be recording because I can't stand
hearing myself recorded. Now I just need to figure out what to write...
