crazyleseratte, it astonishes me that you still experience interference while having such
a high level of Spanish. I have a lower level of Dutch (B2-C1), and still, I have never
experienced any interference with German... I thought that having a high level (minimum
B2) was high enough to avoid interference.

My Italian and Dutch are somewhere in the B-levels, but if I have a tired day, weird
tihngs happen. Just the other day, I wrote "spelare" instead of "giocare" because for
some reason I thought about "spelen" in Dutch as I was reading an article in Dutch at the
same time, and added an Italian infinitive verb ending.
An interesting exercise that I do is to watch a television programme and pretend to
respond to one of the interlocutors throughout the programme. So it is somewhat like a
pseudo-conversation with no one else being present.

Make a language learning log here, and write in Italian. I have a log and I
write
almost never in English, just my target languages. I practise writing there, and if it
is rubbish, I always appreciate corrections, but if not, people can just read it
without correcting me. I get to practise all the time without the obligiation of
harming anyone's eyes when I write in terrible grammar or vocabulary in my weaker
languages.
The log really helps. I am not sure why so many people write their logs in English
instead of their target languages, because it allows unlimited writing practise,
without forcing anyone to make corrections, and allowing those to make corrections
should they wish to do so.
I have been writing for 2 years in my log in almost all of my target languages, and
with or without corrections, the sheer writing helps to at least give a feel of how
active production of the language is. Even if I have written some serious
grammatically incorrect rubbish (which I do). |

Thanks for the tip I will have to try that next in my progress of learning.
