AlexTG, thank you very much for your message! I've voice chatted for a long time today, and I had almost no issues being understood. I do think my pronunciation degrades over time, and that's kind of weird, because it used to get better as I practiced more.

Shadowing for long periods of times would probably help. I just need to find some nice material. Also, that "ai" sound in the word "right" trips me up every time. It's not such a big issue, but I can hear it now thanks to Tastyonions, so I care and I want it to be gone!

I'm not sure that voice chatting with people is actually helping me with pronunciation or just fossilizing bad habits.

I get very self-conscious practicing pronunciation on my own. It's also kind of scary, because I might unintentionally be learning the wrong sounds. Actually, I'll probably wait until I'm all alone in my room at university to start shadowing.
