Dear all,
the domain of HTLAL seems to have expired and the forum has become inaccessible for most people already. If you can still read this message, this means your domain server hasn't gotten the update yet, but you will soon be unable to access the forum as well. This might be a severe crisis of our forum, but steps have already been taken to solve it. Yup, this probably just means that our administrator's credit card number changed, and the domain renewal notice wound up in his spam folder. To get the site back on line, he would typically just need to pay the renewal fee plus a penalty. This has happened to me before, too.
I've taken the following steps: - I've emailed our administrator at his usual address. - I've tried to call him (with no luck), and will try again on Monday in case he's just out of the office for the weekend. - I've taken steps to make sure the domain doesn't get scooped up permanently by a spammer if it doesn't get renewed in time. It's supposed to be available, please report any disruptions in this thread and/or in the emergency forum, facebook group etc.

Just to be clear: The forum should be accessible for everybody again. Apparently, there
was a problem with the renewal of the domain which has been solved by now. However, there might still be problems for some people depending on when their domain server gets the update. This little incident has led to some discussion about HTLAL's future about which you can read language.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=40713&PN=1">here and learn-any-language.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=683">here. EDIT: Arrrgh, can someone fix the links for me? The forum simply hates Google Chrome (or the other way round)... Does the "not real" HTLAL site work for you ?
Currently in france, it doesn't work, but I receive email notifications of people updating their logs, so I was wondering if the problem was just on my side or if it's a general problem. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
