From lots of research I am under the impression that we have nothing of much for learning Italian free of
charge. I have a feeling that I must be mistaken somewhere. Does anyone know of anything that's comprehensive for Italian? If we can't find anything public domain, could anyone recommend anything that is paid? I have done the 1950s assimil course in the passive wave and gone through the new assimil course too. What level do you need?

Thank you very much. I don't have a problem with obtaining native materials. I will only buy dvds that have an Italian dub on them etc. It's speaking and writing that I have very little skill in. Passively I am quite good. Thanks again for the link. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Thanks Jeff but I am already aware of those courses. I was looking for the very comprehensive course materials like the Princeton Russian course or the basic fsi courses. We discussed the programmatic course elsewhere and deducted that I wouldnt survive that course and it would likely end it death. Thank you though man 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

TID=39728&PN=1&TPN=2#521681. Looks like the InItalia course I mentioned there was taken down. It's quite a shame because it was very comprehensive. I hope this just means that it is being updated. I am currently using Ultimate Italian Advanced by Living Language with the accompanying CDs. I am not sure if it is still in print but I highly recommend it if you can get your hands on a copy. Thank you. My passive skills are quite good I would say. Not sure if it's possible to grade on passive alone but I would rate them at a B2. I can understand films that I have never seen before as long as I have the Italian subtitles on for the intricate words that I would otherwise miss. I start university next week to studyit so I need to get my materials in order. I have the fsi materials for my other languages but was struggling for comprehensive stuff for Italian. You're welcome! You can probably find a cheap copy of the book as it is now out of print. Unfortunately, the
CDs might be a bit harder to locate. But you probably could get by without them if your comprehension is already at B2. It looks like the In Italia course was only temporarily offline. You might find the last two seasons helpful. And it's free. 1 person has voted this message useful |
