Hi
nice done (and a lot of work done) ... but on Applebooks ....
Languages learning are only a hobby for me (as the administration of my website).
I like to do it.
But I also like to offer it for free.
The only problem with "free" is the lack of help: re-recording for example, checking etc ..
With money, it would (of course) be easier ;) .. maybe in another life !

It's a few months old this post, but this is still relevant.
So I run the www.fsi-language-
courses.net
website, brought back from the dead, it was originally from 2006, as were the .com and
.org versions.
I've copied a lot of the great work that Eric has done and reinstated this old domain.
I've already discussed this with Eric to some degree, but I am working on digitizing
the FSI works into a web application. I am a web developer and language learner. You
can see a basic prototype here:
http://www.fsi-
language-courses.net/fsi-language-course-mission/
I'm working on a crowd funding project to get enough money together to properly pay
people to get all these courses not only digitized, but updated as well, new audio
recorded, obsolete language removed etc.
Once I have the materials digitized, I can do pretty much anything you guys want with
it, in terms of reordering the audio, creating flash cards, adding new content and
exercises.
I want to keep this all completely free for the community forever!
I would love to get your opinions on this.
Darren

This is truly an interesting post! I have appended a LINK to your comments in the new, REPLACEMENT forum A LANGUAGE LEARNER'S FORUM which was launched last year, to redress the persistent long-term technical and administrative issues associated with the maintenance of the HTLAL Forum.
While HTLAL forum continues to serve as a highly-valued archive of several years of very interesting discussions, for the most part, the "active members" have moved on to the new forum. I suggest that you register on the new forum and post your report there, as well. There is already a discussion thread opened in the "General Language Discussion" section as CREATIVE WAYS TO USE FSI. I can, if you like, change the name of the discussion thread on the replacement forum to something more evocative of your project.
