I'm studying abroad in Russia until Late may/early june. I'm in a small Siberian city so very few English
speakers.
I'm pretty damn immersed in Russian, but I have one problem that is hindering my ability to improve. I have
very bad vocab and thus I can't really maintain a half way decent conversation with locals (who don't speak
any English).
How should I improve my vocab in this situation? I dont want to waste my time abroad studying flashcards
in my room, but I acknowledge that I must dedicate a great amount of my time to vocab acquisition while
im here in order to have a chance at half way decent interactions and real improvement.

Try asking on www.forum.language-learners.org After
various technical problems here the aforementioned
site was set up and it's a lot more active so
you'll probably get more answers.
