Can anyone suggest some good written (or Internet) resources for Icelandic? Like something I could maybe order from Borders?

Below is a list of the most useful links I've found for the study of Icelandic. Link number 1 provides a list of books with a discussion of the merits of each. I would also add the book Carry On Icelandic: Learn Icelandic And Enjoy It! which was published after that list was made.
There is a lack of good materials for learning Icelandic (no FSI course or Pimsleur). However, there is a Linguaphone audio starter course. 1. Learning Icelandic - tips and links 2. Online Lessons 3. I have a Teach Yourself Icelandic book and it is pretty good. It came with a CD, but it basically just reads the book, no repetition and stuff that really should be there.
Obviously, it isn't the best method, but there is so little available for Icelandic! 1 person has voted this message useful | |
