Anyone have any experience with ABEBOOKS (especially with foreign suppliers). They seem to have thousands and thousands of language titles - many for only $1 (plus shipping) from all over the world. Looks like you order through them and then the books are sent from individual stores all over the world.

I've ordered stuff through them. No problems.
I usually check bookfinder.com first for a title, and then I get a list of the sellers that offer that book. Abebooks, Amazon, Alibris and Biblio are the most common sellers that I get. You're right in that Abebooks in turn acts as an intermediary for other bookstores. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I've ordered several Amharic books through ABE (mostly from India, for some reason) and never had any problem. I plan on ordering again in the future, as there is a serious lack of Amharic learner's texts available at places like Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

This is a great website. I ordered five German language books including a German/english dictionary and a teach yourself book for just over $20 including shipping.
