Besides the for u, these are a - like o in hot in British English á - like a in car(without r) e - like e in bet é - something between "ay" and "ee" i - like i in bit í - like ee in beet o - like aw, often slightly diftonguised(as uo) ó - like o in stone, but not diftonguised and very tense ö, õ - rounded equivalents of e, é 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

One "major" source you didn't mention, though, which thanks to Fat-Tony is now available, is the DLI Hungarian course, which is different from the FSI course but likewise contains a great deal of audio material. Although I haven't used either course, I think one way the DLI course may be a bit more user-friendly than the FSI course is that the individual lessons in it don't cover nearly as much material as the FSI lessons, which are quite long. Both courses were produced quite a while ago, and the DLI course has a fair amount of military-related vocabulary, but I still think it could be a very useful resource for anyone interested in Hungarian. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
