A short article about a Ukrainian professor, who is said to know the most foreign languages in all the Ukraine:

Maybe I'll translate the article later, but the important details: He has travelled half the globe. He has a command of "practically all the languages of Europe", knows Persian and several rare Finnic-Ugric languages (Mordvin, Moksha, Erzyan). And he's the only one in the Ukraine who knows Basque, which he learned in Euskadi. Altogether he knows 50 languages.
