British Indian schoolboy speaks 11 languages

It seems like he can speak languages as varied as Chinese, French, German, and Swahili. The article doesn't mention what they meant by 'speak' though. Sometimes I wonder how those little kids can learn so quickly. Any chance that we can invite him to this forum? (Yes I know this forum is more for adults, but I wouldn't mind learning more about the 'interactive' methods that he uses)

There is a space in your link, I couldn't get through the first time I tried.

The boy's schoolmaster said that the languages he isn't learning at school are more "sketchy". Seeing as he is learning from software, (probably that popular EuroTalk series?) I don't doubt it. Not to make light of his progress at school however. Taking four languages at school at once and succeeding at them is no mean feat, especially with closely related languages like Italian, Spanish and French.

This was actually on TV this morning and I got the impression that he's not exactly fluent in a fair number of these languages. It is still an impressive achievement though. His mother noted that he did learn to read and write in Gujerati (?) in a month ( she is bilingual English/Gujerati so I imagine he had listening speaking fluency already ).
