This is by far one of the best Spanish learning resources out there. They have free lessons that range from very eay all of the way up to expert. In addition, they have around 5 new entries every week, and the two announcers are a lot of fun to listen to. It is one of the few programs out there that I actually look forward to hearing every week. Charles EDIT: P.S. I contacted one of the voices (JP) with a suggestion for a show. Within a day, I received a very lengthy reply in which he said they would consider it for a future show. It was great to get a personal response so quickly. RTSI (Radiotelevisione Svizzera di Lingua Italiana) has dozens of podcasts in Italian. They cover a wide range of subjects, from Ticinese traffic and world news to technology to Italian pronunciation.

I don't know those podcasts, but let me just warn that most Italians find the pronunciation of Swiss Italian very funny (which is probably the case with every couple of same languages pronounced differently). And no, I'm not implying that Italian Italian is better than Swiss Italian. :-) Italian comic trio Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo made a series of "Swiss Real TV" sketches that Italians find very funny, but I guess both Swiss and foreigners wouldn't understand them: Youtube links ;-) 1 person has voted this message useful | |||||||||

How odd the accents are varies greatly. "Voci del Grigioni Italiano" has speakers with pronounced Grigionese accents. "Cronache Svizzera Italiana" has fairly noticeable educated urban Ticinese ones. On the other hand, does "Cuoci D'artificio" really sound that odd to Italian ears?
Those are relatively amusing. I watched the one on mushrooms, and it was oddly reminiscent of things I've actually seen on Swiss TV - I have seen shows on mushroom gathering, done in all seriousness. The accent was hugely overstated and parodied, but I've heard people here who don't sound that far from it - mainly older ones. "Erba del vicino", "Mille voce", and "Il documento" show an unparodied version of this, albeit still fairly lightly. "L'oro della terra" is an extremely heavy version; I've only met a couple of people who sound anything like it. Most of the podcasts from ReteDue are fairly heavily Ticinese-accented, though not as much as "L'oro della terra". "Leggiamolo" and "Saltamartino" also have interesting regional accents. None of the RTSI podcasts seem to have perhaps the most curious local accent, but another podcast does: http://www.radioticino.com/Podcast/Intervista_ad_Adriano_Sof ri_di_Oscar_Acciari~Luglio_2005.mp3 clearly shows relatively gutteral R's, rather than the typical Italian rolled ones.
