Les maux ne savent pas seuls venir;
Tout ce m'était à advenir
        S'est advenu.
Que sont mes amis devenus
Que j'avais de si près tenus
        Et tant aimés ?
Je crois qu'ils sont trop clair semés;
Ils ne furent pas bien fumés,
        (aus)Si sont fanés.
De tels amis ne m'ont pas protégé,
Jamais, quand Dieu m'a assailli
        En maint côtés,
N'en vit un seul dans ma demeure,
Je crois le vent les a ôtés,
        L'amour est morte.
Ce sont amis que vent emporte
Et il ventait devant ma porte,
     Les emporta.
