If any of the fine members of this forum have photographs and an account of an immersion program they did abroad, I would be pleased to include it on this website like for Keith in China.
I think these illustrated stories are highly motivational for all of us and especially for the beginners on this forum.

I have finally written up my immersion experiences. Admin, you are free to post a link or take the information and put it on the web site. If you do, could you please put a link to the original article, as I may add some more information or put up my planned French immersion as well.
While I'm at it, let me thank you for putting together this great web site. It's inspired me both to work harder on my languages and to write up some of my own experiences.

This link doesn't seem to work for me but I'd love to read about your immersion experience in France as it's something I'm considering.

I highly recommend Concordia Language Villages. They pioneered the immersion method of language instruction in the early 1960's. Berlitz' Total Immersion and other immersion methods soon followed.
While serving as Secretary General of the UN, Kofi Annan praised CLV as the finest language instruction in the world. They offer adult programs in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.
You can check them out at
