My Chinese friend Huanglin

As part of my language study I cultivate relationships where people will treat me like a 'fooool' (in a good sense). These people often have a lot of patience and will demonstrate language concepts as if you are a child. Huanglin, a storekeeper, is one such person who has become a great friend of mine due to our slapstick friendship. I often spend half an hour in her shop where we will both dance around trying to convey our message to each other. If it wasn't for these amatuer dramatics a friendship based soley on speech, at my level of mandarin, would soon turn stale.
