This is a tentative TAC ’14 thread for an Advanced ESL Team. I’m just posting to see if a team, however small, is viable.
As first envisioned, the Advanced ESL team was meant for people working towards or in the framework of CAE or CPE (or similar exams), which means we’re talking about CEFR C1 and above. But there’s no need for being too strict about the actual level. This team could be the home of all those who wouldn’t normally keep working in earnest on their English because they are already more or less proficient. Here's a list of the people who have expressed some interest in the team in the Sign Up Thread for TAC 2014. Apologies if I’ve missed someone. Definitely still in! I hope that from the end of 2014 I can pass for a native (or very
close to one) when I write and hopefully be able to imitate a british accent without living in the country! Are there English speakers on this forum?? I didn't see any! ;) 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

After my proposal to have an Advanced ESL team failed to raise much excitement, I feared this team would never take off. You can’t imagine how happy I am to find that we can actually start a team.
So, do you think we need a name? A proper team thread or will this one do? Should we be very organized as a team or do you prefer to be more casual? Does anyone have good suggestions for how we’re going to make this TAC work? Is anyone itching to be the team leader? I would vacate the post quite happily, as I’m already a (reluctant) team leader for the Scandinavian Team. Can we start with everybody posting a link to their logs so it’s easier to find and read about each other’s progress? --- One thing that makes 2014 get off on the right foot: We’ve already got ourselves a godfather! Thank you so much dampingwire for volunteering!
I, for one, would love for a native speaker to point out the mistakes I make but, above all, to suggest how to formulate more naturally-sounding sentences when I get stuck into some awkward phrasing. 1 person has voted this message useful |
