I am calm and I am learning...

...Not sure how posting a few questions is considered spamming but that was not my
intention at all. You have to understand the frustration of not knowing the rules of
engagement on this forum and where some very simple technical capabilities seems to be
not available. And when I ask to try to understand i seem to get conflicting
information about what needs to happen...posts?...time on forum?...pro membership?

I teach senior chemistry at the high school level and my students use a variety of
social media and other technical tools in class so I am not a stranger to this
environment. I have never experienced a case where one couldn't post links or had that
feature (and other simple features) hidden.

I know that I am a newbie to all of this forum but I want my posts to look good and
have the occasional links. I thought the idea was to share information etc with fellow
members on our respective teams. As it stands now that capability is not available for
me which is frustrating for sure, but something that it seems I will have to live with.

Back to studying...

Well it did seem like you said "thanks for the answer" just to reach 100 posts sooner.
It should've been pretty obvious that this has nothing to do with pro membership, and ideally any other possibilities don't depend on you - you just use the forum and wait.

@TheGreaterFool
I completely understand where you're coming from, and we're here to help and support one another as a friendly forum. I can empathise with some of the difficulties and frustrations that you might experience when first getting used to a new interface and different rules. If you have any further questions, just send me a PM and I'd be happy to try and help out.

@Serpent
As a newcomer to the forum, I think TheGreaterFool is simply keen to play an active part in his TAC teams, and just needs a helping hand here. I fear some of your comments could easily be interpreted as a bit confrontational. Please go easy on him.

Updates:

Added some links

Homogenik:
Added to Polish

Primosanchez:
There is no specific team for Portuguese unless you can convince some others to join you. I can put you down for Romance team #3 if you want. Depending on how many more people join between now and 1 January, it will either become a new team by itself, or if only a few people join, it will be combined into the other Romance team(s).

TheGreaterFool:
I thought it was the number of posts you had that determined when you were allowed to post links, but it may also be as Serpent say, that it depends on how long you’ve been a member. Either way, I don’t know the cut-off point. I thought it was when you became a groupie, but since you now are one and still can’t post, it that doesn’t seem to be the answer. You will be able to edit the posts you’ve made in your log later, so you can fix the links then. In the meantime, I’m afraid you just have to be patient and wait for that magical time when you are allowed to post links. There are also other filters against spam here. If you try to post the same thing twice or if you try to post too many times within a set time limit, you will get a message that says spamming is not allowed. This forum is fairly free of spam and one of the reasons is probably because of those restrictions, and the other reason is because we have such hard-working moderators.

Team Slavic+Romance is officially Team Nebun now:) (Romanian for crazy)

as for the links, I think they'll actually appear automatically when the time is right. The posts are stored the way you submitted, just displayed differently for new members. For example if I click quote, I still see a valid link and no text about the newbie link.

Anyway, in the future please post the technical questions in the technical subforum. This was my main objection basically :D
