Damn it, I just joined your (our) team. I don't know how much Gaelic I'll get done during the next year, but I don't want to miss the opportunity of the first and only Celtic team on HTLAL.

Evel-just! By the way, do you roll the r for Breton? Assimil says you can use a Parisian
r, although it used to be rolled, of course. |

That has certainly been my impression for bi/labials and stops. Not as much as, say, Spanish, but definitely more
than French. It seems to me like a flick of the tongue. Just wait, soon I'll be busting out praat and spectograms to
figure this out... after exams.

Hey DaraghM ;) Team Clan for me is a bit odd combination of terms since team is a group of
people and clan is also a kind of community, maybe it's just me. |

We could call ourselves a clan instead of a team and be the
Táin/Menhir/Mutants/Avalon/Lugus/Lugh/Tintagel/Camelot Clan. :)

Excellent news, we have another 3 new members in our team!! Please all extend a warm friendly welcome to DaraghM and jeff_lindqvist (who'll be sharing their experiences in Irish next year) and to Josquin (who'll be joining liammcg in studying Scottish Gaelic).

We've now got 10 members on-board our little Celtic ship, which is an incredible response, considering we almost didn't have enough to form a solid team TAC presence a few days ago (special thanks goes to liammcg, tarvos, and Gosiak, who got the whole ball rolling). Our growing clan of Celtic language learners now includes 6 like-minded souls studying Irish, 2 Scottish Gaelic, 2 Breton, and 1 Welsh.
If there are any others on the forum who'd like to join us, please just send me a PM or leave a comment here on our team log. We'd be happy to take on more new members. In particular, it would be great to find some more speakers or learners of Welsh out there, and maybe even add some Manx and Cornish learners to our list (I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a full Celtic family reunion ;) ).

Here are our 11 suggestions for a team name so far:
- Team Táin
- Team Menhir
- Team Mutants
- Team Avalon
- Team Lugus
- Team Lugh
- Team Tintagel
- Team Camelot
- Team Celtic Voyage
- Team Clan
- Team Celts
What do you think...any clear favourites yet?
@LanguageSponge
Thanks for the good wishes, and all the best in your Russian and Greek studies next year! (Sure we can't tempt you to take on a bit of Welsh next year too? ;) )

Teango, I actually grew up with Welsh when I was younger but I have lost most of it for
various reasons. I was very seriously considering it this year, albeit it quietly, so I
will keep from committing myself but I think the time might be right next year. I still
have the "feeling" when something's said wrong, but I've lost so much of what I knew as
a kid. Thank you very much for the offer though; I may take you up on it in a year's
time.
I have just noticed the post above regarding the team name. I know my opinion
carries absolutely no weight here but I like the sound of Team Celtic Village. Could I
also make the humble suggestion that you consider Celtic mythology? There are so many
Celtic gods. There's also a lot of symbolism you may want to consider if you want a
banner, so to speak. Oh, and I will be keeping track of you all, especially Gosiak's
Welsh as well as Maiwenn and tarvos with the amazing choice of Breton. You're all
heroes in my eyes, good luck!
Jack
