I never participate in these things. I haven't in the three years I've been here. I'm not working actively on improving my Spanish. I am on a similar quest to emk's in French with my Portuguese to reach C1 equivalent. Since my two Iberian languages are at a high level, I think I can help learners with my experience as a second language speaker of both languages, and... well, you know I'm going to be here anyway, :). So, count me in as a team member! And be prepared to get out of your comfort zone with your course and anki reps!
I'll be away until mid January. I'm going to Iberia for a visit in early January, where of course I will be unable to understand anything since I speak Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish, ;). Obviously, no one will be able to understand me either, ;). I will be exploding these myths in a few weeks as I already have done. I've been there before.
