Just wondering where you picked up the Assimil French with a Spanish base?
Another couple of ideas for podcasts - I know you are interested in Carribean Spanish so
perhaps la radio universidad de PR might interest you. http://www.wrtu.pr/

Telemundo has these commercials that are just thrown in at random times and the show stops

Ugh. DramaFever does the same thing. I'm not ungrateful - at least I can watch Spanish TV for free. But it's so
annoying! You almost had me adding Los Miserables to my list until you mentioned all of the female characters
being one-dimensional. I'm not sure it would be for me! I might give it a try, but I'm in the middle of four different
series right now, so I'm not in any rush to try a new one.
Sounds like you're doing well with your Spanish!

That Puerto Rican website looks great! Thank you. It will be perfect for my long drives. I've been wanting to find something like that where I can listen to an hour or so while I drive on the highway... even better that it is from Puerto Rico.
Los Miserables is a REALLY great show. I can honestly say there has not been a single dull moment. Every single scene develops the plot. I think it is so fast moving that you don't really get to "know" the characters. They focus on plot development instead of character development. Certainly the main character is quite well developed, but I just don't bond with her. The show is on youtube also, but the order of the parts gets screwed up and that is even more annoying than watching it on the Telemundo site.
Edit: And, I likely purchased the Spanish based Assimil on the Schoenhof's bookstore website. That is the best place to buy Assimil... much cheaper than Amazon. You can buy the book and CDs separately often times for less than the package.

Also check Abebooks and other online used book stores (like Alibris), especially for older Assimil books. You can often find them super cheap there. Schoenhof's is the best i've found so far for getting newer Assimil books in the US. I'm not sure what your best options would be in Australia though.
