TAC 2009 Day 105
I noticed today that my inner dialog has gotten much more sophisticated and natural. I remember back in December or January when I first started trying to think in Korean. The only thing I could think to say is "춥다!" ("It's cold!"). But now I think about explaining all kinds of things, and it is good practice that makes my speaking more natural when I'm eventually around real Koreans. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Continued in Keroro volume 5. The new readings are really building up with short intervals in the SRS, so I may need to study some of them separately soon. Best card: Q 지구인 미녀와 多情한 混浴! 순간 視聽率 格上! In the morning did more Keroro volume 5. I'm on track to improve over the last volume, but not as drastically as before. Best card: Q 白熱의 주사위놀이 파이트 怒濤의 展開! I continued in Keroro volume 5, and am at page 155 of 180. It's hard to do more than two full pages of new vocabulary at a time, because my brain kind of wears out. TAC 2009 Day 110
I finished going through the vocabulary in Keroro volume 5. Here is the comparison with the unknown word count from previous volumes. Keroro vol 1: 819 (4.55 per page) Keroro vol 4: 614 (3.41 per page) Keroro vol 5: 536 (2.98 per page) That's 13% fewer words than last volume, which is a big jump. I will probably continue in Keroro for the time being. I also ordered a few new books from AladdinUS today, but it will take about a month for them to arrive. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

TAC 2009 Day 111
Before sleeping last night I read about 20 pages in Harry Potter, and it felt like a completely different book! Last time I read it I understood what was happening in general with each sentence, but now I understand much more of the details. I also learned several new words because my knowledge of roots has improved so much I can guess unknown words in context pretty easily. The other thing I noticed is that since I knew almost every word, the grammar jumped out at me, and I picked up on how to express various things that I didn't know before. I may keep doing free reading like this for a half hour or so each day as it seems to improve on a different aspect of my Korean and I usually have the time available before I sleep. 1 person has voted this message useful |
