You're probably right there, I was thinking the Genative might fulfill the same purpose, but I guess using the ablative is a better choice.

Sic hodie lexi. Ecclesiastes est liber Bibliorum gratissimus mihi. Legere eum in Latina est ludus.
(I know Latin typically uses a subject-object-verb word order, but what about in sentences with so-called "linking verbs", those that take predicates instead of objects?)
