Ik heb nog nooit een Mac computer gebruikt. Dat is meer iets voor de graphische sector. Voor gewone kantoorbanen in Duitsland wordt altijd MS Office in combinatie met Windows gevraagd. Ik heb in verband met mijn schoolbaantje wel den kans dat ik computercursussen vergoed krijg. Deze week zal erover gepraat worden, welke cursus ik misschien kan doen. DANISH COURSE Today the VHS-Krefeld contacted me to ask, whether I will continue my last semester's Danish course. No, I will not! Tomorrow I will have my first Danish lesson in Düsseldorf. This will be total Danish immersion for two hours. I am very much looking forward to the new course. DANISH COURSE INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED LEVEL I very much appreciated this lesson, which was well prepared and well-structured. It's a small group of nice people all having the experience of many years of Danish learning. They are all fluent in Danish and I could follow the conversation in the group quite well and take part in it without using German. Our first text had the titel "Molbohistorierne" which are rather funny little stories from a Danish region which is situated around Ârhus, so I hope that Iversen can give me some (short!) background about this special region. The first little story had the title "STORKEN OG HYRDEN" (= Der Storch und der Hirte). Our second text was a passage from a political book called "KRONPRINCESSEN" by Hanne Vibeke Holst which deals with the political career of a female Danish politician. For me it's a good choice because I am interested in political topics and by the way we got the info that there will be a general election of the national parliament in Danmark tomorrow, so I will have a look on Dutch "NOS Teletekst" to read a good summary of the Danish election results. I had quite some long passages to read aloud in Danish and the teacher corrected only my most essential pronounciation mistakes, which I find very helpful. She is Austrian by nationality and has a very good Danish pronounciation. DANISH ELECTION When I study foreign languages I am also interested in the political background of these countries. And I have a special file at home where I collect the election results of different European countries. So this morning I printed out the summary on Teletekst (in Dutch) about the result which says that there wil be a new prime minister. As well I will have a look in Krefeld's local newspapers to find some reports on Danish election day. Normally you never read anything about Danish politics in the German press, but such an election day gives me the chance to get at least a mini-glimpse on it. I also do this when there is for example an election in Turkey. Only Esperantujo doesn't provide me with any election results! BEING RATHER UNINFORMED ABOUT SMALL NEIGHBOUR COUNTRIES This morning I checked the two local newspapers of my city to look for an anrticle about the election in Denmark. In one of these newspapers there wasn't any such article and in the other (which I bought) there is a small article with the title "Linksruck bei Wahl in Dänemark" with a photo of the new prime minister published on the bottom of page 5. The relevance of such an event (which takes place in a neighbour country of Germany) seems to be rather small and I am always embarrassed over this. If I learn the languages of smaller countries which have borders with Germany, German press keeps me so uninformed about these countries. It's all about USA, France, Great Britain and so. But I will check the second newspaper tomorrow again to see whether they will publish a belated article about the Danish election... Speaking about textbooks (I have already outed myself as a big fan of them) there is for example an excellent list in my previous book "Einstieg Dänisch" with the names of the most important political parties in Denmark and their political orientation. This is very important for me to know and I can always refer to this list. Besides this I get A LOT OF information about Danish culture and menthality from my textbooks. This is very helpful for me especially because I normally don't have any contact with Danes, so I have to read about it somewhere. OK, if you have personal contact with people of such a country then you learn these cultural things the natural way, but I have to find a subsitute for my missing personal contacts. Anyway, if you are a polyglot, you can't have contact with every country of your foreign languages. Fasulye 1 person has voted this message useful |
