Welcome back! I hope you continue the ongoing quest to publish your book.
To me the most interesting language learning thread during your hiatus was on The Listening-Reading System. It is a long thread, but just reading the initial posts by the original author, siomotteikiru, and a couple of her clarifications should give you a clear picture of the system. I have been using it to some degree and personally think it's brilliant. I am extremely curious what your thoughts are. If you would like a special thread or even your own room where people could ask you questions in a grouped fashion please let me know and I'll set it up. It could be called Ardaschir's Tree and you could gather polyglot-apprentices under that electronic tree to teach them about the art of polylgottery. Good luck with your book. One is never quite satisfied with a book and many great books have been published posthumously. Yes welcome back Ardaschir,
I was one of those people who enjoyed reading your contributions back in 2005 but was always to hesitant to ask you anything directly. Times have changed and two years have come and gone, so I would like to ask you a quick question about your acquisition of Arabic. As someone who has been learning Arabic (on and off) for the last fifteen years, I would like your opinion as to what are the benefits of learning Arabic or what have you gained in your pursuit of this language? What if any, are the best methods of learning this language considering its supposed difficulty as testified to by many students and language difficulty scales (the FSI scale comes to mind). Welcome back, Ardaschir. I enjoyed reading your old posts such as the one arguing the importance of Latin for learning the Romance languages. That polyglot institute you mentioned sounds like a great idea. How serious are you with that goal?
