Hi jbbar
Hoe gaat het? Groeten uit de Ardennen.
I think that I agree with you about all you wrote, excepted this:

Yes, it has to see with it because racism and homophobia are types of prejudice by people because of soem differences. It's about the *differences* which this prejudice and intolerances exist. Truly, that a person's skin is dark, or a person is homosexual doesn't threat the people, it's those differences which the ignorant people don't like. many of people simply don't tolerate things which aren't absolutely the same, "normal" exactly as they.

I am firmly of the view that some form of prejudicial thinking, to some real degreee, is an inevitable component of all of you human beings. With some, this takes the form of racism; with others, it manifests as sexism or in issues relating to sexual or political orientation or even more superficial characteristics. It can even be as silly as cheering for the wrong team in a sports event.
I am not embarassed to admit this about myself.
Though I have struggled mightily with this, I have come to the regrettable conclusion that I am prejudiced against werewolves. For me, all I can think of about werewolves is that they are probably busy poisoning wells, stealing babies or even in the right lunar conditions, plotting to eat me. I see a werewolf and I immediately feel an overwhelming urge to punch it in the neck and go looking for a big rock to finish the job with. I am not proud of this, but it would be dishonest for me to deny it.
I like all people though. Seems silly not to. I like dogs better, but people are all right.

Jar-ptisa, I'm sorry but I have to disagree. I will probably be opening a can of worms by what I am going to say here but I'm going to be honest about this.
All races are equal because we are all human beings created in God's image so to say. We all have the same basic abilities, emotions and basic biological features. In the end, we are all individuals. Having said that, I don't believe discrimination is immoral per se. What is immoral, however, is to judge a person based merely upon their color of skin. But it is not immoral to discriminate based on a person's skills or character.
Unlike color of skin or ethnicity, homosexuality is not natural. Therefore I think it's wrong to equate 'homophobia' to racism. I disagree strongly with gay marriage and civil unions and as such you might argue I am intolerant, that I discriminate and therefore 'homophobic'. But then again, I am not the person to beat up a homosexual either because that is uncivilized.
In fact, as far as I'm concerned, homosexuals have as much rights as anyone else. So just how homophobic am I then? However, I do firmly believe that there are civil institutions like marriage that ought never to be changed because only heterosexuality is natural.
My point is that discrimination is only wrong when it is done for the wrong reasons.
That is as much as I'm going to say about this because I really find it quite irrelevant to this discussion. I have no interest in engaging in a discussion on the issue of homosexuality. And besides, this topic is Ashley's and it's about racism.
Kind regards,
jbbar

Jbbar you said just enough to spark a mighty flame war.

It's perfectly natural, there are homosexual animals too. I had a gay tomcat at one time ^_^. You may want it to be unnatural but it is in fact quite natural.
In the end what does it matter if you are attracted to the "right sex"? There is more to life than sex. Who do you think God loves more: Hitler or Leonardo da Vinci? ( The latter was notoriously homosexual in case you don't know; )
