Two days aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I don't feel prepared...probably because I'm not, especially in the speaking but I'm going to give it my best shot. You only have to redo the ones you fail so if I failed one, it would in no way be a disaster. I'm realistically aiming to pass three of them and the forth will be a bonus. I don't really know what to do now, other than relax and try not to worry about the fact that the trains keep crapping out because of the snow! I really hope everything goes fine on both days transport wise, it's stressful enough as it is >_>

It was too persistant in it's advances :P

Anyway thank you! When did you start learning Dutch? You seem pretty damn good at it

Ik heb het verlede jaar voor het heel jaar op een taalinstituut gestudeerd, totdat ik een bevoegdheidscertificaat van het 5e niveau haalde. Sindsdien leer ik het niet meer actief, maar probeer wel om mijn woordenschat uit te breden en om de grammatica beter te beheersen.
I studied it for 1 year at a language institute last year until I got a level 5 proficiency certificate. Since then I don't study it actively but try to expand my vocabulary and te get a beter grasp of the grammar rules.

Most people get the certificate to prove they are official competant in order to get a job, and stop there. I think however that one can never stop learning, this includes your mother language.
What I love about Dutch (and what some might hate) is that it can have so many varities even within the standard language (without mentioning all the dialects and mixed dialect/Dutch). For example what I said above:
-studeren/werken op/aan/in; different prepositions can be used. Some feel more natural to some than others.
-Here we mostly use 'leren' instead of 'studeren'.
-'verlede' (pronounced 'verleje' like how goede is always pronounced 'goeie') instead of 'vorige', this is strictly Belgian Dutch I believe

It's all done now. As predicted the speaking was difficult. I don't want to comment on how I found the other parts in case I fail where I was secretly thinking I might have passed. 5 to 6 weeks until I get the results. I've found out I get a diploma if I pass all four parts and a certificate if I pass less than four (which can be exchanged for a diploma when the other parts have been passed). I'm already nervous and itching for the results :/

Although I've done the exam I still don't really know what to do next. I should be starting my tac log now but I don't have a plan. I'm undecided about learning a language next to Dutch and don't know where to go with Dutch until I've got the results back so I don't have anything to post about. Oh well, we'll see. I'd really like some kind of method for Dutch to give me something to do regularly but intermediate plus materials are hard to come by. I'll keep searching.
