I have decided to change some things.
Any suggestions are welcome. 1. Shadowing, I should have never stopped doing this. I am such an idiot. It is just such a great activity if done properly. It is also a great excuse to get away from the house and do some walking. Resource: 인간 극장 That woman's voice is easy and plesant to listen to, there are lots of conversations. 2. Reading, I got to spend some time and get good at reading. I found a site with some bilingual texts. This will build vocab, but more importantly help me figuring out grammar. Resource: hollym.com, bilingual materials 3. Movies, I will keep doing scriptorium with these. 놈놈놈, it is fun. Resource: Korean movies, funny movies, horror movies, stupid teen comedies. 4. Talk with Koreans, 5. Work lists. Memorize the words I find in Movies and reading, make word lists, look up the Hanja meanings. I am going to start shadowing in my commute time.
By the way, 놈놈놈 is way funnier in Korean. I really don't mind watching this movie over and over again. The production quality is amazing for a Korean movie. Wow,
Bilingual text is like flying, Especially, Aesop's Fables has all the wisdom and everyday words you need for learning the basics. The stories are so obvious that you can guess the meaning almost immediately. If you can't you have the English text to help you out. No more guessing if you read it right. Furthermore each story has a moral, like "Never judge a book by its cover". Those stories are fun to read and easy to remember. I can cover so much more reading. So, I have decided covering more pages is more important than memorizing a few sentences. I will stop focusing on a few sentences, and cover more ground. I will divide my study. 1. Reading, lots more reading easy books with bilingual text.. 2. Shadowing in my commute time, daily.... 3. Watching Dramas 4. Talking with Korean people. 5. And I thought you didn't like reading? :) Maybe from next time we meet, we should just talk in Korean. I get this guilty feeling that if we are only using English, I'm robbing you time to practise your Korean. :( It's great that I get to speak English in KOREA (for God's sake, I need some in this monolingual country), but... only if you think clear communication is worth sacrificing language learning time. :) 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Keep up the good work Jiwon.
I started reading "Of Mice and Men" 생쥐 와 인간 Do you have any advice for reading with bilingual text. I have been reading it and copying it and looking up all unknown words. Then I will try to memorize those words later. Or should I just keep reading and trust that the words will keep coming up enough that I will be able to memorize the important ones? What do you think of that strategy? Also, I can pronounce most of the material, but there are a few words I don't know how to pronounce properly. Like. 슭, or 뚫 also, 저녁녘 What is the deal with these sounds??? 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
