My reading speed in increasing.
Also, I can read more accurately with certainty of the sound. Lately, I am trying to focus on saying the little things correctly. Like, 그렇게 기억하고 있어요. That's what I remember. I feel, learning to say these small phrases well, really improves my spoken language. Samples 네가 내 말을 듣지 않으니까 그렇지. 몸이 좀 안 좋아서그래. 그 애가 그렇게 말했어. 그렇다고 들었어요. 내 말은 그게아니야. 난 그걸그렇게 해. 난 그렇게 내 여친를 만났어. These are samples of sentences I am trying to learn today, and might put in anki. Oh, today's hanja is 위, also, I might put these in anki, maybe not. 위--position 지위--position, like status 직위--postion in a company 순위--order ranking 위--stomach 위암--stomach cancer 위--dangerous 위험 위태롭다 위기-- critical, 기--opportunity 위--console 자위--masterbation 위자료--compensation, alimony 위--dignity 권위--authority 위--guard 바위--defence 위--false 위선--hypocrisy 위장하다--camouflage 위--circumference 분위기--atmospher. I need more time and more books.
My conversation is getting so much better. I listened to my Mother-in-law. I can understand her. Wow, she has such a heavy accent but still I could understand her words. Amazing. Before i could only understand Seoul people. I still have a long way to go. So, here is today's lesson. 청--government office 관청--government office (official--) 청사--government building (--building) 시청--city hall (city--) This seems so obvious now, why didn't I learn this from the beginning. 도청--provincial office (province--) 청--request invite 요청--important request (essential--) 신청--application request (petition--) 청--listen 경청--listening attentively 청 blue green 청색--Blue green 청바지 청와대--The Blue House (--title,tower) 청--clean clear 청결--cleanliness (--clean) 청소--cleaning the house (--sweep) 청순하다--be pure and innocent (--pure) 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Started another book,
영어 일기 핵심패턴, Seems like it is going to take a lot of time to get really good at Korean. Well, I spend almost all weekend studying. I think it will take a year of solid study to get OK at this language. That is frustrating. Well, I will keep going. Unitl 7/13/2010, That is my goal date. Seems like there is always more to learn. One book I think is fantastic is
1.대박 패턴 500으로 It is in my opinion on of the best books, I have seen Yonsei, Sogang, F. Park's series, Those always have the same problems. Starting with formal Korean. Also, I find the material all really really boring, It is always about Kim chi, or Shilla, or other boring Korean culture stuff. If you want to learn Korean, you should study "손담비" or Brown Eyed Girls. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Yeah, I know.
Today, 멸종,came up in my anki and I spent so much time trying to remember it. Finally I looked it up. 멸--destroy 종--seed Extinction of a species. This is kind of a useless word to know, but it was in Anki, and now that I know the meaning, hopefully. Someday, I will have a reason to say, 멸종하다. That day will probably never come. But, Now I know 종류 -- a kind:sort Which is a usefull word. Now I can remember 종류 more easily, or 일종-- one kind 각종--all kinds 품종--species 인종--human species 순종--pure bred 잡종--cross bred. Now someday, I guess, if I become a Profession Korean dog breeder, I can say, wow, all that hard work really paid off in the end. I am glad learned 멸종. 1 person has voted this message useful |
