Thanks, JasonChoi
I really appreciate it.

The newspapers are a great idea.
I'll try it tomorrow, and try to sick with it,

Yeah, down with 스능 and TEPS. Or any of the B.S.testing garbage.

strObe,
In my opinion,

ennime and Jiwon seem to be really outgoing.

So, they seem to have no problems trying to speak and trying to create sentences of their own. Enki, I feel would rather listen and pick his sentences.

So, I feel that even though people have different personalities, they are still successful at learning languages.

For me, I have trouble speaking spontaniously, I always think carefully before I say a sentence. Even in my own language, I speak and think carefully. I am very cautious.

Therefore, I feel my learning techniques are very different. I focus on input, while I am sure ennime and Jiwon probably can start right away speaking and not afraid to make mistakes.

Mostly, I was impressed at how well they had learned serveral languages.
Especially, ennime is learning some african language. To me, that is crazy. I mean a good crazy. They all seem very ambitious to learn many languages, good work guys...

strObe, if you get the chance to meet them, it is really worth your time.

Haha.. yes I'm quite outgoing and talkative. AND my thoughts and ideas are always ready to spill out in whatever medium/language I can find. But it doesn't mean I'm not conscious of my mistakes. They really hurt me, but not enough to make me shut up. I love communicating and interacting with people so much that a few language mistakes don't discourage me.

I think I concentrate more about the "quantity" of what I can actively produce, and hope that others will correct me. I will probably never be able to fix some aspects of my accent and some pronunciation problems (hell, I even make mistakes when speaking Korean), but at least I can jabber on, and people will understand. That being said, I really "love" literary input from foreign languages.

The dreadful monster you are referring to is spelt "수능" not "스능" .. Next time we meet, I might even bring a small mirror to get you to pronounce 괴물.. :P.. As far as Korean education system is concerned.. Well, I'd rather not comment here.. Those that are curious can also contact me via PM.

Going to 제주 this weekend with my family in-law.
I really hate these types of trips.
My wife and all her family.

It will be a huge waste of time and frustration.

If you ever get the chance to marry a Korean women and live near your family, and work for a Korean Company,

Beware....

The life of a 월급쟁이 is difficult. I feel I have become one.

Shhhh.. Don't make it sound too depressing, or you'll scare all the potential korean learners!!

Try and think about "good things" about the trip. It's going to be warm, windy and hopefully sunny, with lots of black, holey rocks, and the blue seas, and 해녀아줌마. (Ok I'm starting to make no sense.)

On the brighter side, at least you don't lead the life of a 수험생 going for classes from 2pm till 8pm on SUNDAYS.. *cough*cough*

Evolution... haha.. Here's another word for your vocabulary list: 사색. There are multiple meanings for this word, but one I like is "contemplation". 사색을 즐기다.. :)

This has been a great motivation for me to pick up studying Korean again. Thanks. And I know what you mean by the 'in-laws' situation ;)
