I always laugh when I see someone who has the name Longbottom or Sidebottom. My own boyfriends last name is Bumford which makes me giggle. I remember some funny names of kids I went to school with. One girl was unfortunate to have the last name of Hoare. Another boy was stuck with Dumbe.

I have seen a Cockburn and a Woodcock, thats about it. I've never met a Richard Kranium, but there must be one out there somewhere.

I know of a Peter Wacker and a Richard Hertz. In Australia there is a tv reporter named Harry Potter. I laugh everytime I see him.
My Taiwanese in-laws can't say my name, Aaron. They always call me allen. I wouldn't mind if it meant something cool like roaring tiger, but alas it means duck egg in Taiwanese. Who wants to be called duck egg? My wife laughs everytime they try to say my name.

I've heard in an auction in Paris a bid made by a 'Monsieur Faussaire' (Mister Forger). I was sitting next to the expert and he told the 'Commissaire Priseur' (the guy with the hammer) This guy better not make you a cheque!. It really happened to me.

Here's one that's somewhat well known in the US, and very well known in Texas, since she was a daughter of a former governor.

There was once a president of Finland Svinhufvud whose name means "pig's head" in Swedish. Poor finish president! Maybe some swedish speaking bureaucrat got angry on his grand-grandfather and wrote such funny name.
