I'm supposed to be studying but I was just perusing the ol' TAC info and ellasevia has done a super job updating all the teams! (^-^)b

It's now almost april (only 3 months?) and it looks like I won't be hearing much from my other team members for the loooooooong stretch til DEC. AH, well... I wasn't planning to do an individual TAC! Things could still pick up...

Until then, "go Team Ÿ/Sunja, go!" p(*^-^*)q おうえん

Hey Sunja,
Go team! Sorry your teammates aren't too active. We need all the support we can get in this endeavor. I enjoy
reading your log and think you're doing a fine job of fine-tuning your learning.

And I can relate to your line: "I'm supposed to be studying but I was just perusing . . ." This forum is a mixed
blessing, both an inspiration and a distraction. Today my daughter came upon me reading the forum on my iPad
and said, 'Mom, you're obsessed with that site." Too true!

Good luck with your studies,

Li Fei

thanks li fei! Yes, I also spend way too much time daydreaming on the computer and reading through other peoples' stuff! Sometimes I think I should take all the minutes I spend in the forum and use them for learning new vocabulary -- I'd be quite advanced! Actually one thing I have done is to look through my index cards while I'm waiting for my computer to load. I use my ol' stationary computer and it's an oder one... (computer years 6 = people years 100!). It can take forever to get what I want. whenever my computer is updating or a server is busy I try to get busy, too. It's better than drumming my fingers on the desk: why is this taking so long!

I don't mind, we can read and visit all the logs which are interesting, for example Iversen, Hobbema and fasulye who aren't in a team.

That's a good attitude that you have. And your right. Believe me I don't worry about it, the idea of teams. Anyway I'm so busy at the moment that if anyone were to ask me right now I'd say, "es ist mir Wurscht!"/"ça m'est egal" ;) I love to come in and read on teh weekends when I have more time to socialize! I think the TAC is the reason I came back to the forum -- it's really the best thing about this place, IMO

*streetch* I gotta get up and do a couple of things in the house before I go pick up the kids.. Hopefully i'll get to do some studying today, but German (other log) is priority this week. (and this is completely unrelated but my mother-in-law just had surgery on Mo. and we've all been a bit preoccupied -- but it's nothing serious for the moment)

This morning I was pretty studious, since I haven't done anything all week long. I even kept track of the time! (the question is now, where did I put my notes....? *rummage-rummage*)

ah-ha. I reviewed old index cards for the new book and that took about 20 minutes. I was worried that it'd been taking too long for vocab study -- 20 min isn't too time-consuming. It would be great if I could continue to keep the time under 30.

I did that "translation quiz" that I made for myself a week ago and even though this was my third time it still took an hour. Part of that is due to the fact that I painstakingly rewrite my mistakes and correct them. The number of quiz sentences (really basic French) was 107 and I've whittled it down to 25 phrases which are still giving me a hard time. I'll try translating these 25 that I got wrong in a few days.

After that I did some L+R of the first 3 pages. I just follow the text with the recording. It's really enjoyable. Not so much the story is enjoyable as is hearing French read to me -- it's really great. I gotta find more of these books.

I just did the quiz again and I still have 18 out of the 25 that I'm still getting wrong. That tells me that I'm not ready to communicate, yet.

I'm still working through the first chapter of Meurs, mon amour. Vocabulary study takes a long time, more than 30 min, I'm sure. There's quite a few number of words and phrases that I don't know. and It takes time to look them up.

Tomorrow I'm getting a book that's way over my head. It's a french copy of The Gun Seller, which I was able along with a CD version of the book. So book+CD will give me a lot to work with. I decided to get it because it was already in my shopping basket at Amazon.de and I thought, "what the he-, I'll go ahead and get it."
