There's a Wiki for Plattdeutsch. Wikipedia, dat fre'e Nakieksel (This might be interesting for people who know Dutch, although I'd never go so far to say that Platt is Dutch. They have similarities, I'm sure.)
I can read it but I had to search around for "Nakieksel" and that's Platt for "Nachgucksel" Which is difficult to translate. "Nachgucken" is have a look-see. Nachgucksel would be "little spot to have a peek at", I suppose. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Petite correction : FR: J'ai besoin d'aller chercher ma fille maintenant. Ensuite je vais mieux étudier mon Assimil (et non le feuilleter) Je vais lire le chapitre 2 de mon nouveau livre, peut-être. Tout d'abord, je vais continuer à étudier. Dès que je finis je besoin de faire mes courses. Mai, je vais essayer dire ça que j'ai déjà fait. Bon, Je viens de voir pendant un heure Yabla OR Je viens de passer d'un heure regardant de Yabla. "AloRs, Regardez.." C'est ce que j'ai appris est le "guttural rhotic" Je n'en compris pas. Un [ʁ] après l'autre. J'appuie sur (les boutons) "back" et "slow" Et je répète l'expression. C'est magnifique la voix du présentateur mais je ne peux pas imiter sa voix. Assimil: Comme d'habitude je lisais des chapitres 62, 63, 64 du Assimil ce matin. Puis j'ai fait ma lessive. That is completely messed up with the tenses, but I'm trying to practice/learn when to use l'imparfait, passé composé, futur proche, passé proche. Here's the translation First of all, I'm going to continue studying (futur proche) as soon as I finish I need to go shopping. But I'm going to try to say what I've already done this morning. (futur proche + passé composé) okay, I just watched one hour of Yabla OR I just spent one hour watching Yabla. (passe proche). THis is what I've learned is the guttural rhotic aaand I can't get it. One [ʁ] after the other. I pressed on the buttons back and slow and I repeated the phrase. The voice of the moderator is gorgeous but I can't imitate his voice. Assimil: As usual (signal for imparfait??) I read Chapters blah, blah and blah. Then I did my laundry. (passé composé?) Hopefully I get get a few "bon plans". I'm still working on the Assimil. "Sunja's Official Assimil Activation Time" (that's that time I have waiting in the car that I mentioned) was good yesterday. I need to go over Chapters 13, 14, 15. I added the German-TAG to my log since I plan on studying the two regional dialects I mentioned (ganz nebenbei) and would appreciate any help in that regard. Eventually I'd like to auf Plattdeutsch chatten, but I'm still have a ways to go, yet.

I don't have my dictionary yet, so some of this is pieced together from various forums for dialect. Fabulous stuff! It's kind of a way for some people to relish their upbringing (Elternhaus) and it's also away to have fun and be creative with the language.
Hessisch: Isch habbä mer Ina Müller gekaaft. soa ne scheene Fraa e si ad ne reschd scheene Schdimme aach. boim erschde maal habbä isch mer gedacht, menschenskinner, isch habbä esch wenisch verschtande. Dadenach habbä isch mer noch ne mal gehörd. Da hädde isch keen problem dammid. AACH. isch maach misch nedd verruggt. Net so wischdisch. Des oiner was fehld iss ne scheene spruuch! Kenne isch awwer keene! De innerned iss voller dialect "chat rooms" abar sie sin sowwes fär bubes! ihrr wisse schon, gell.. da glaubstes nedd. Daddewege wüll isch mer pladd lerne, denn keenisch mit mer leud unnerhalde. isch wasses nedd, wie isch ankomme, -- Was solls, so lange ich mich nicht krampfartig unterhalte un Spaß dabei habe -- keen nedd mer scheef gehe. isch maache misch ewwer ford (haamzuus -- Wanted to use that one but couldn't fit it in!). Hessisches Word des Tages: schpachtele = essen too help me along ;-) I've found a few rules for Hessisch Aussprache: ich = isch b = ww st = schd sp = schb ck = gg Platt could be it's own language. Favorite word of the Day: Leeweschaalescheallerche and something that one of my friends taught me today: "mer misse mal Geschwinde mache" This old dictionary helped me to find the French translation "j'ai ferai cela d'abord". Taking a break from Hessisch, and moving on to Platt. I found a fabulous source for listening to Platt: Die Welt Op Platt I still have to strain to understand Yared Dibaba, but I'm getting used to him, he's great. May have to buy it. There's not many clips. I've been watching other really local (NDR) Youtube videos for Platt spoken in the area. They don't yield much, though. I can understand everything, which is good, because it means I found the right Platt for my area (Mittelhessisch). EDIT: wenn ik wat op platt kieken will, denn Plattmasters, even though it's hard to imagine a unified tutorial, this has some stuff worth looking at. Even though Plattmasters is not Mittelhessisch I think I'll start with it so that I can understand Ina Müller better, then I'll work my way back down southward, towards the middle ;) I'm south of the so-called "Benrather Linie", which is the imaginary line where "ik" becomes "ich" and "dat" becomes "das"!
