Today :
- greek : reviewed my "sentences" (le grec tout de suite/le grec en 40 leçons).. still working the "oral part" of the language - a little bit of German (listening to radio: 30 min) - not a word of Spanish : pues, visto que puedo leer en espanol sin difficultades, me parece que no tengo que mejorar mi vocabulario, pero no es un razon para no hacer nada... tendria que aprender al menos 10 o 20 nuevas palabras cada dia.. por lo menos... eso es muy extrno: me parece que una vez que tu conoces bastante bien un lenguaje, es mas facil de no hacer nada y considerar que ya esta terminado el "fase" critica y que, entonces, no serve de nada de aprender algo mas... un error fatal !! - Italian: listening to radio (20 min) (per il momento, ho abbandonato i fumetti, ho deciso di ricomminciare a leggere: e adesso c'è Giacomo Leopardi (opere di gioventù : Italiano e latine)... Dunque mi rendo conto che ci sono molti parole che non conosco benche possia comprenderle con il contesto... - dutch: nothing : shame on me!!! - portuguese: the bad part of the story : still have a problem with the accent... I found this link : romanian courses It's part of the french program on RRI, but it's just so great !! I didnt want to pay " a fortune" in order to receive some Assimil or TYSL book and so far, I hadnt found anything on grammar and vocabulary... Now it's on air !! Today :
- espanol : he escuchado la radio durante 1 hora: Radio Nacional de Espana... Me parece que mi mi espanol esta vuelto de nuevo en lo que concierne la parte "oral", es decir la parte "passiva" (no sé se se dice eso!) Tambien he aprendido algunas nuevas palabras, y puedo entender textos literarios sin difficultad aunque aveces no reconozco ( o no conozco !!) ciertas palabras muy raras, ese tipo de palabras que se encuentren solo en textos literarios (romances, novelas, etc.) - English : I decided to copy/paste some pages from logs of HTLAL English members.. After all, that's a good way to improve my English, at least my written English... And that's free material and I even may have some feedbacks ! - Italiano : devo dire che non ho fatto niente questa settimana... comunque, ho finalmente lasciato la radio per concentrarmi sull'acquisizione di vocabulario... mi rendo conto che ci sono tante parole che non conosco, vogliio dire : parole commune come i nomi delle arbole, dei frutti, alcune parole techniche che dovrei sapere... - romanian : unfortunately, I'm still unable to write in romanian, but the website RRI I found three days ago is just great... there are currently 50 lessons (63->113)on line ... I guess I should copy/paste them before they wipe them off the page... each lesson is a short one talking about a particular subject (eg : Leçon 103 - Passé du verbe "a fi" (être) ): Alexandra: A fost frumos. Il a fait beau. (the weather was fine) Alexandru: A fost interesant. Cela a été intéressant. (C'était intéressant.) (It was interesting) Valentina: A fost bine. Cela s'est bien passé. (It worked out well) Alexandra: A fost cald. Il a fait chaud. (the weather was hot) Alexandru: A fost frig. Il a fait froid. (the weather was cold) Valentina: A fost soare. Il y a eu du soleil. (the weather was sunny) - deutsch : was hab Ich gemacht seit eine Woche? Gar nix glaube Ich!! Ich habe eine Menge Zeichentriche gekauft und hab schon die Hälfte gesehen. Es gibt keine "subtitles" (wie sagt man das eigentlich?) und so ist es besser, denn Ich muss mich konzentrieren um die Dialogue zu verstehen. Je mehr, desto besser ! - greek : how should I put it? Still reviewing my sentences, but so far : no grammar, no vocab list... still working on the "oral part" as I explained before... This is some method, eh? Now, it's a bit frustrating because I really feel I'm slow according to the "programmed" pace... But we'll see what will get out of it ! _ portuguese: I'm sorry to say that portuguese is really a failure... Still dont know what to do with the accent I cant catch... It maybe psychological, but I really dont see why.. So, the next step is : writing in romanian at the end of the month... a little bit but at least in romanian... - Italian : reading : "Dalli Appennini alle Ande" da De Amicis (first 40 pages) - German : Deutsche Welle : listening to 2 hours (while doing sthg else) : that's the point : try to catch the most of what has been said without listening carefully - Romanian : lessons : 63 to 113 of the RRI - Spanish : lessons 75 to 80 from "L'espagnol en 90 leçons" + listening to Radio Nacional de Espana - English : nothing : shame on me !!! - Dutch : lessons 42 to 50 from "Le neerlandais d'aujourd'hui en 90 leçons" Edited by polyglossia on 14 March 2011 at 3:52pm 1 person has voted this message useful | |

- Spanish : canal 24 : watched TV while doing sthg else: las emisiones siempre hablan del JAPON... Un senal NHK se encuentra siempre , incrustado en la esquina de la pantalla
- Italiano : sto ascoltando Rai radio uno: stanno parlando di quando Bush ha invaso il koweit e quindi della libia e del bahrein... "la parola a nostri ascoltatori"! - romanian : revised lessons 63 to 113 on RRI (unfortunately there is no recording for each one) - greek : greek radio (thessaloniki) : 2 hours - German :german radio (Deutsche Welle) and some TV station I found on internet (cf.spanish! Actually when I do say I was doing sthg else while watching canal 24, I was talking about German TV : I was just switching between the two of them) - English : nothing ! shame on me! - portuguese: no portuguese these days... looking for dialogs... 1 person has voted this message useful | |

- reviewed my dutch yesterday and did some grammar for the first time ! I guess my method isnt so bad after all : concentrating on the oral and listening part as much as possible without ever refering to the text. Actually, this was the method used by Elia Canetti's mother when he was 7 y-o and knew nothing about German. Listening to sentences in the target language, repeating them, carving them into your brain and repeat them, again and again and again... and again..
Now, there is the other method : the Schliemann's method : taking a book with a translation, learning it by heart, comparing each word with the words of the translation but it looks more difficult... Actually, I must say I used both of them... Especially the schliemann's one when I was learning Spanish years ago, but I used some "live" dialogs at that time and a Spanish translation of "Peter Pan's story"... Now, I reckon that focusing on the oral and listening part leads to a certain "monotony" (God! it sounds latin !) but it gives you an amount of "idiosyncratic" structures that is a lot of "specific" structures in your target language... Plus, when it comes to review a text I learned, I can read it aloud and silently as well as a french text... Words are coming easily and I'm not stumbling upon some words I dont know how to pronounce... 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Hi polyglossia!
Ich finde es gut, dass du in deinem Log in mehreren Sprachen schreibst. Das ist eine zusätzliche Übung. Ich mache das auch in meinem TAC - log. "Subtitles" heißen auf Deutsch "Untertitel". Bei uns in Deutschland haben die Spielfilme auf TV5 Untertitel. Du lernst sehr viele Sprachen gleichzeitig. Iversen macht das auch. Ich selbst kann das nicht, sondern ich muss mich auf 2-3 Sprachen beschränken, weil ich sonst keine nennenswerten Fortschritte mache. Die Deutschprüfungen kenne ich leider selbst nicht, da sie für mich nicht relevant sind.Viel Erfolg mit allen Sprachen! Herzlich Wilkommen auf meiner Log! Ja... Also, Ich werde sicher zufrieden sein, wenn Ich nur eine von dieser Sprachen fliesend sprechen könnte... Ich war doch fliessend aud deutsch als Ich 10/11 Jahre alt war, leider hab Ich fast alles vergessen. So, Ich versuche mein Deutsch zu verbessern und dafür brauche Ich... Zeit. Rundfunk anhören, Zeichentriche anschauen, usw. Und Ich muss auch meinen Vokabeln verbreiten (to expand??)... Aber, lernen soviele Sprache glichzeitig ist doch kein Problem wenn es nicht zuviele gibt. Übrigens lernst Du auch viele Sprache gleichzeitig, ne? Latin, Danish, Türkish... Ich muss auch mein Esperanto verbessern... Ich hab schon alles gelesen was Du auf diesen Sprache greschrieben hast. Mir felht doch Praktikum (also... Praktikum ist wie "internship", nicht wahr??
