Ok, this is it!
Pashto will be my target language and Persian and Thai will share the remainder of the time, so I guess it is going to be a 50-25-25 ratio, when I dont sneak on other languages to not get bored. Here is my hint for those aiming to get serious: don't make yourself go through 24h straight like I did! The result is more counter productive than you would ever believe! About Esperanto, I have my reservations about constructed languages, maybe if I get some extra motivation I could look into that, but for now I'll limit myself to the non-constructed. In the ISO list it's called Pushto rather than Pashto, maybe that's why. You can also use the code #ps.
I learned Esperanto in self-study when I was 14. I received lessons via e-mail and sent back my exercise responses to a volunteer tutor. That I kept at it and actually managed to learn the language this way, at that age, should tell you how easy it is. I got the amazing sense that everything was just clicking into place and the language was motivating me, while with every other language I had to find the motivation myself, and then struggle to maintain it. Using Esperanto, I've traveled to Spain, Sweden, Lithuania and the Czech Republic for free (all expenses paid) and I got two of my jobs because of Esperanto. I've talked to people that I didn't share any other common language with, for example people from Nepal, Iran, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. I've also talked to a lot of people whose English was too bad to be of use, for example from China, Japan, Russia, Brazil and yes even from Western Europe. It is true that I could find people from all these countries who speak English fluently, but with fellow Esperanto speakers there is a deeper connection and we're meeting eye-to-eye... plus you don't randomly meet people from so many diverse countries when you go to an English conference, nor is exchanging cultures one of the program points there. I particularly enjoy how about ca. 10-20% of people at Esperanto events (typically several hundred participants) are true language geeks; it's a much better percentage than in the general population and means I have so many more interesting conversations or opportunities to practice/learn languages. I recently wrote a blog post about language activities during the IJK. The rest of people don't necessarily reach Esperanto through a love of languages - there are a lot of programmers and mathematicians there for example, who typically only speak Esperanto and may or may not be conversational in English. They got drawn into it because Esperanto is extremely logical. People from other subcultures (vegetarians, environmentalists, atheists, anarchists, etc.) are also represented more than they are in the general population, because studying Esperanto is a choice that requires an ability to think for yourself rather than follow the mainstream unquestioningly; the mainstream scorns Esperanto or dismisses it at least. I like talking to people who are unafraid to do something unusual. Quite independent of any language knowledge, these people have more stories to tell, about volunteering in Africa or getting arrested in France, or about their pet project improving anonymous internet access for people in the PRC. 6 persons have voted this message useful | ||||||

Maybe it's just because of my ineptitude with Twitter, but it doesn't seem to be letting me post one of my tweets because it's the same exact amount of time spent on the same activity and same language as something I reported earlier... Is there any way around this?

I believe it is to prevent accidental double-posting or spam. If you add a dot or "again"

OK. I have just signed up officially. I wanted to get back to studying German and my level is advanced-beginner I think, so this is a great time for it. I got off to a slow start and have only done some vocab earlier in the week. I will log that with the bot later today.

Ok guys... I totally just found out we had a 6Wc going on... So i promptly have made me a twitter and joined in. Im 7 days behind but oh well means ill be playing catch up.
